City of Osceola Jayhawk Resolution
Community Chamber of Commerce Response
The Osceola Chamber, local businesses and organizations within Osceola were not consulted or informed that the writing of the resolution was taking place. While we take pride in our community and its history, we do not hold Kansas University responsible or feel like the name of their mascot is a constant reminder of the burning of Osceola. The day our city was burned will remain a sad day to all of us, but Osceola is prideful in saying that we continue to strive toward growth in every aspect that our community offers its residents.

Chamber Welcomes BMW Driving Club to Toad Suck Grill
The Osceola Community Chamber of Commerce welcomed the BMW Driving Club
to member Toad Suck Grill in Iconium. The "Road Monkeys" from Huston -
about 20 people and a dozen cars - drove up from Texas and stopped for a
tasty BBQ lunch at the Toad Suck Grill, as well as a brief historical talk
from owner Warren Love. The group then headed up to Iowa and eventually
to Wisconsin, where they participate in a national gathering and races.

Osceola is located on Truman Lake about 100 miles south of Kansas City
and 60 miles north of Springfield on Highway 13. Being surrounded
by beautiful bluffs makes for a perfect place to spend the weekend at
our RV park. The fishing and hunting is always great in the
Osceola area and the boating is as good as you will find anywhere.
